Service Procedure
SERVICE PROCEDURE:1. Move and fold the driver's and front passenger's seats forward.
2. Remove both the left and right rear seat belt webbing (A) from the seat belt guide (B).
3. Release the rear seat back by pulling the latch release lever (C) located at the pivot of the seat back and bottom cushion (rear center seat).
4. Fold the rear seat back (D) down.
5. Fold the seat back flap (E) over to access the seat back anchor bolts (F). Remove both left and right bolts.
NOTE:
Tightening torque:1.2~1.5 kgf.m (11.8~14.7 N.m, 8.7~10.8 lbf.ft)
6. Release both the left and right brackets (H) by pushing the rear seat back (G) down, then remove the rear seat back assembly.
7. Remove the seat back release cable (I) and the rear seat cushion bolt (J).
NOTE:
Tightening torque:1.2~1.5 kgf.m (11.8~14.7 N.m, 8.7~10.8 lbf.ft)
8. Pull up at the front edges of the rear seat cushion and remove the seat cushion (K).
9. Partially remove the door weatherstrip (L) and the door scuff trim (M) bordering the right quarter inner panel.
10. Remove the trim cap (N) and remove the trim retaining bolt . Then remove the C-pillar trim (O).
NOTE:
Tightening torque : 0.5~0.6 kgf.m (4.9~5.8N.m, 3.7~4.3 lbf.ft)
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the rear pillar trim and the trim cap.
11. Remove the rear quarter panel trim clips (P).
12. Carefully remove the quarter panel trim (Q).
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage or break the quarter panel clips (6EA).
13. Remove the quarter panel backing plate (R) by removing the 9 retaining bolts.
NOTE:
Tightening torque: 0.5~0.6 kgf.m (4.9~5.8N.m, 3.7~4.3 lbf.ft)
CAUTION:
When reinstalling the retaining bolts, the 2 specified bolts (R1) should be installed first.
14. Visually locate the contact areas (T) between the quarter outer panel and the quarter inner panel through the opening shown (S).
NOTE:
U : BPR (Body Panel Reinforcement) SEALER
U1 : Quarter inner panel
U2 : Quarter outer panel
U3 : Panel contact point
15. Using a heat gun (W), heat the BPR sealer. Then use a scraper (X) to remove the BPR sealer.
CAUTION:
Do not concentrate the heat gun in one area.
CAUTION:
Maintain a distance of at least 10cm (4 in) between the heat
gun and the panels.
NOTE:
Remove approximately V (30mm / 1.2 in or more) � V1 (20mm / 0.8in or more) of BPR sealer.
NOTE:
Reheat the BPR sealer for an additional 20 to 30 seconds if it becomes difficult to remove.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to leave sealer shavings between the body panels.
16. Apply urethane adhesive (Y) to the contact area between the panels.
17. Spray under coating through access hole (Z1) and the opening (Z2) located in the quarter inner panel in the general area where the BPR sealer was removed.
18. Install all removed components in reverse order of removal to complete the procedure.
NOTE:
Ensure that the vehicle is well ventilated before releasing to customer.
