WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA DCS INTERACTIVE OR DCS ON-LINE TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.
DESCRIPTION:
Some Elantra vehicles may have a rattle from the glovebox area when driven on rough pavement surfaces. This rattle can be prevented by replacing the dampers (bumpers) with revised dampers.

PARTS REQUIRED
NOTE:
The parts are supplied in packs of 10.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
Obtain a retractable type pen or an equivalent diameter tool.
1. Open the glove box (A).
2. Pull out the 2 glove box dampers (B) by hand.
3. Confirm the pen is in the retracted position, and it will fit into the center of the damper.
NOTE:
The pen must be in the retracted position, or it may damage the damper or leave marks on it.
4. Insert the new glove box damper to the left mounting hole (C).
5. Use the pen (in a retracted position) to push the damper into the mounting hole until it snaps into place.
6. Gently pull on the new damper to ensure it is fully seated. If it comes out, press it in again.
7. Repeat step 3 through step 6 for the right glove box damper.
