Removal and Installation

Evaporator Unit:





REMOVAL




1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Discharge the refrigerant.
3. Disconnect the liquid tube "B" and suction hose from the evaporator.

NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and dirt out of the system.




4. Remove the water drain hose from the evaporator.
5. Remove the grommet cover from the dash panel. (2 screws)




6. Remove three of the glove box assembly bolts.




7. Disconnect the thermostatic switch connector.
8. Remove three of the evaporator mounting bolts (or nuts).
9. Remove the evaporator unit.

INSTALLATION
1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
2. If the evaporator unit is replaced with a new unit, add 40 cc of compressor oil to the compressor.
3. Evacuate, charge and test refrigeration system.
