DESCRIPTION:
The error codes that may be displayed by a radio are published in the owner's manuals, not the shop manuals. This bulletin lists the codes and provides information about how to reset the radio for codes that require resetting. This bulletin does not replace the troubleshooting section of the shop manuals, which should be referenced when repairing the audio system.
AUDIO SYSTEM ERROR CODES
Table 1: Reset Instructions By Radio Model
^ To disconnect the power, first remove the ignition key, then remove the power connector on the fuse box (Accent, Tiburon - in the underhood fuse box. Elantra, Santa Fe, Sonata, XG300 - in the passenger compartment fuse box).
^ 2002 Sonatas with auto AC will need the mode changed from °C to °F after reconnecting the power (refer to shop manual).
^ If the battery is disconnected, the Automatic Transmission Adaptive Learning (TSB # 01-40-002) and the XG300/350 Electronic Throttle Control System (ETS) (TSB # 00-36-012) will need to be reset.
