BLOCK HEATER INSTALLATION

This bulletin is being issued to provide important installation information pertaining to block heater Part Number 084AM 00007. It has been brought to our attention that a change was made by the block heater vendor from a brass screw to steel. Because the new steel screw is longer, it hinders installation in the Accent, Elantra, and Tiburon blocks. The modified block heaters can however be installed in the Sonata and Santa Fe blocks.

Please refer to Parts Bulletin Group A Number 48 issued December 1, 2000 for detailed information related to part inspection and returns.

In the interim, in order to install the block heater in Accent, Elantra, or Tiburon vehicles, we recommend that you carefully adjust the length of the screw with a grinder until the top of the screw is flush with the top of the heating element.
