Front Door: Service and Repair

FRONT DOOR

Front Door:






REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Remove the door window regulator handle and then remove clip using a piece of cloth (Manual type only).






2. Remove the quadrant inner cover.






3. Remove the rear view outside mirror mounting screws and then remove the rear view outside mirror.
Disconnect the remote control connector. (Elect type only)

4. Remove the door inside handle.






5. Remove the screws from the door trim panel and door pull handle.






6. Insert a screwdriver between the trim fasteners and door panel to pry off.






7. Remove the door pull handle bracket and trim seal.






8. Remove the door speaker.






9. Remove the carrier plate bolts from the regulator channel.






10. Pull the door glass out through the window slot.






11. Remove the front door window glass run.






12. Remove the door regulator channel mounting bolts and then remove the door regulator assembly.






13. Remove the front door belt joint moulding and front door frame moulding






14. Remove the front door belt outside weatherstrip.






15. Remove the front door frame garnish






16. Remove the front door glass guide quadrant channel.






17. Remove the front door rear channel.






18. Remove the door inside handle rod from the door latch assembly and channel.






19. Remove the outside door handle mounting bolts.
Disconnect the outside door handle rod from the outside door handle at the position shown.






20. Remove the door latch and door lock actuator.

Door latch tightening torque 8-11 N.m (80-110 kg.cm, 5.8-8.0 lb.ft)






21. Remove the waistline molding.






22. Remove the door checker.

Tightening torque 22-33 N.m (220-330 kg.cm, 15.9-23.8 lb.ft)






23. Installation is the reverse of removal.
If the door glass has been removed from the glass grip, be sure to install it in the correct position.






NOTE: When installing the door trim seal, butyl type should not be placed over door trim fastener mounting area.
