Ball Joint: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.

2. Using tie rod end puller tool No. 09568-34000, or equivalent, disconnect lower ball joint from knuckle, Fig. 4.
3. Remove stabilizer link mounting self-locking nut and detach stabilizer bar from lower arm.
4. Remove lower arm mounting nut and bolt.
5. Reverse procedure to replace noting the following:
a. Check lower arm for bend or breakage.
b. Check clamp for deterioration or damage.
c. Check ball joint dust cover for cracks.
d. Check all bolts for condition and straightness.
