Hyundai starters, Fig. 1 and 2, are either direct drive or reduction gear type. The direct drive starter has an overrunning clutch type starter drive and a solenoid switch mounted on the starter motor. The structure of the reduction gear type starter differs from that of the direct drive type, but the electrical wiring is the same for both types.
