Air Conditioning Signal
Air Conditioner Control Circuit:
Turn the ignition switch ON, locate pin #6 of connector C50-1 on the ECU, and test for the presence of power with the A/C switch in the "on" position. Battery voltage should be available with the switch in the "on" position and 0 volts should be present in the "off" position.
NOTE: To test pins do not remove the connector from the ECU, instead insert a straight pin or needle from the back side of the connector to access the pin.
Air Conditioner Control Circuit:
Air Conditioner Relay Location:
To test the Air Conditioning Relay, located in the passenger compartment, proceed as follows.
Fig. 6 Condenser Fan Relay Terminal Identification:
1. Remove the Air Conditioning Relay.
2. Test terminals L and B for continuity, there should be no continuity.
3. Apply 12vdc power across terminals S1 and S2.
4. Test terminals L and B for continuity, there should be continuity.
5. If the relay fails either test replace the relay.
NOTE: In referencing the wiring schematic in ELECTRONIC AND ELECTRICAL DIAGRAMS, the terminals 2 and 4 refer to terminals L and B as marked on the relay. Additionally terminals 1 and 3 relate to S1 and S2 as marked on the relay.
