Adapter and Modulator Kit Installation

1. Record the customer's preset radio stations. With the ignition key in the off position, disconnect the battery negative terminal.





2. Remove the driver's side lower crash pad.





3. Remove the control relay.





4. Remove the relay box.





5. Remove the ECM protector.

6. Remove the ECM connectors from the ECM.

7. Remove the ECM.





8. Remove the protective covers from the two sided tape found on the adapter mounting surface and attach the adapter to the ECM as shown.





9. Connect the extension harness connectors (red-taped side) to the ECM.

10. If the vehicle is already equipped with the cold start modulator kit, disconnect it and remove. Reconnect the cold start modulator to the new extension harness, connect the high altitude modulator to the extension harness and strap both modulators to the ECM as shown below.

Note:
If the cold start kit was not previously installed, connect only the new modulator (P/N 39901-24Q30D) to the extension harness and strap it to the ECM.

11. Strap the extension harness, control harness and the adapter together.





12. Reinstall the ECM, adapter and the modulator(s) as assembled and connect the control harness connectors to the adapter.

13. Reinstall the relay box and control relay.

14. Reinstall the lower side of the crash pad.

15. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and start the engine to ensure operation. Reset the customer's preset radio stations and clock.

16. Proceed to the catalytic converter inspection.
