Some 1990 model 4 door Excel's may have front windows that are difficult to roll up. Due to low pressure outside the window created by the vehicles aerodynamics the window may move out slightly and contact the outside edge of the glass run.
This condition is correctable by installing the front window glass guide used on the 1990 Excel 3 door vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Measure 12.5 inches up the glass run from the top of the mirror base and mark the glass run. Pull the glass run out of the channel on both sides of the mark as shown.
2. Hold the glass guide against the run at the mark and draw a line on each side of the guide as shown.
3. Trim the lip and ridge off of the outside of the run between the lines drawn in step 2 as shown.
4. Cut out a section through both top ribs of the run 1/8" deep between the lines drawn in step 2.
5. Push the glass guide into the channel and push the inner tabs in place. Push the guide up into the channel and hook the outer side in place as shown.
6. Push the glass run up into the channel and slide the guide into place within the cutout area of the run.
Repeat procedure for the other side.
