Alternator - Replacement B+ Wire Available

A replacement alternator B+ wire is available, independent of the main harness. The replacement wire comes fully assembled, includes all necessary connectors and heat shields, and does not require soldering or crimping.

NOTE: The terminal ring inside diameters are 6 mm on the replacement wire.
Installation Procedure

1. Make a note of customers preset radio station selections.

2. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

3. Disconnect the B+ wire from both the alternator terminal and the fusible link terminal.

4. Attach one end of the replacement wire to the alternator end of the original B+ wire.

5. Using the original B+ wire, pull the replacement wire through the front crossmember toward the battery.

6. Disconnect the original wire from the replacement wire and cut off both ends of the original wire where it enters and exits the main harness. Wrap the cut ends of the old wire with electrical tape.
7. Connect one end of the replacement wire to the alternator terminal and the other end to the fusible link terminal. Make sure that both fasteners are clean and tight.

8. Reconnect the battery negative cable and road test vehicle.

9. Reprogram the radio station presets and if equipped, set the vehicle clock to the proper time.
