The EGR Control Solenoid Valve operation may transmit a clattering noise through the firewall to the interior of the vehicle. This noise is most noticeable during light throttle operation. To reduce this noise, a pad has been added to the solenoid bracket and the bushing has been modified.



PARTS REQUIRED



SERVICE PROCEDURE


1. Open the hood. Remove the mounting bolts from the EGR solenoid valve bracket.



2. EXCEL: Using the repair kit, replace the bushings and sleeves and attach the pad to the back face of the bracket



SONATA: Replace the bracket with the new one.


CAUTION: When removing the solenoid from the old bracket, be careful not to break the locking tab.



3. Reinstall the EGR solenoid valve bracket assembly with the new mounting bolts.
