OIL PRESSURE SPECIFICATION - 1990 EXCEL SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION


The purpose of this bulletin is to bring your attention to an error in the 1990 Excel Shop Manual. The specification chart indicates an oil pressure of 21 psi at 750 rpm. This specification is the maximum oil pressure the pump is able to put out at 750 rpm. Be advised, this is not the normal engine oil pressure at engine idle speed. The measured engine oil pressure should be about 11 psi at 750 rpm.

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE (AT ENGINE IDLE SPEED):

11 psi (0.8 kg/squared cm, 78 kPa) or more Engine oil temperature 167-190~F (75-90~C)
