Failure to replace the oil drain plug gasket, incorrect plug gasket installation, or improper tightening of the oil drain plug may result in an oil leak.



The following procedure should be followed to prevent or correct oil leaks from the drain plug:

1. Always install a new oil drain plug gasket whenever the plug is removed.

2. Make sure that the installation direction of the plug gasket is correct. The raised side goes towards the oil pan.
3. Torque the oil drain plug to 25-33 lb.ft. (34-44 N-m, 350-450 kg.cm.)

WARNING: Do not over-torque or under-torque the plug.
