Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove horn cover assembly.
2. On except 1989 Excel, remove upper and lower horn plate, then disconnect horn button connector.
3. On all models, remove steering wheel locknut.
4. On 1989 Excel models, remove dynamic damper.
5. On all models, scribe alignment marks on steering shaft and steering wheel, then remove wheel using steering wheel puller 09561-11001 or 09561-11002 or their equivalents.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque retaining nut to 25-32 ft.lbs.
