FUSE GUIDE FOR PASSIVE RESTRAINT VEHICLES
The electrical wiring schematics located in the back of the 1987 & 1988 shop manuals reference fuse numbers that correspond only to active restraint vehicle circuits. When using the repair manual to diagnose an electrical problem on a passive restraint vehicle, it is necessary to cross reference the fuse numbers as follows:
FUSE BLOCK LABELING * ACTIVE RESTRAINT PASSIVE RESTRAINT
FUSE NO. FUSE NO.
^ To front wiper and washer 15A 1 --------------- 1
^ To rear wiper and washer
(except 4 Dr) 10A 2 --------------- 2
^ To heater 30A 3 --------------- 3
^ To back-up lamp, turn signal 15A 4 --------------- 4
^ To heated glass, head lamp relay, clock, A/C switch 10A 5 --------------- 12
^ To radio, cigar lighter 15A 6 --------------- 13
^ To license lamp, dashboard illumination, tail lamp, side marker 15A 7 --------------- 14
^ To heated relay 30A 8 --------------- 5
^ To hazard 15A 9 --------------- 6
^ To A/C, clock, luggage lamp, room lamp 15A 10 --------------- 7
^ To horn, stop lamp 15A 11 --------------- 8
^ To trunk lid opener, door warning switch 15A 12 --------------- 11
* The shop manual schematics reference these fuse numbers only.
NOTE: Fuse No. 7 on '87 model passive restraint vehicles had some variations as noted in Technical Service Bulletin No. 16, Volume 1, Electrical.
