CONDITION

It has been determined that the 1987 Hyundai Excel may be in violation of California emissions standards.

CORRECTION

^ Vehicles with Three Solenoid Carburetors
- Replacement of the carburetor primary main air jet
- Installation of a carburetor choke shim cap
- Cleaning of the sub-EGR valve, choke linkage, and secondary main air jet area
- Installation of a jumper wire between the ECU and main wiring harness
- Resetting of the ignition timing
^ Vehicles with Two Solenoid Carburetors
- Cleaning of the area around the choke blade shaft and the primary and secondary main air jets, and checking the oxygen sensor ground
