SPARK PLUG FOULING
During the import process, Excels are subjected to many cold starts and stops before they reach the dealership. This may result in carbon fouling on the spark plugs in some vehicles. The plugs can easily be cleaned, and do not require replacement.
Spark Plug Cleaning Procedure
1. Start engine.
2. Increase engine speed to 3000-3500 rpm and hold it there for two (2) minutes. This will clean most carbon fouled plugs.
3. If this does not clear all plugs, connect the engine to an analyzer to determine which plug is still fouled. Remove that plug and clean it with carburetor cleaner.
NOTE: If an engine repeatedly fouls plugs, it indicates timing or carburetor misadjustment, or internal engine damage.
