Adding Modification to Marks

27. Before closing the hood, place a punch mark on the firewall identification plate overthe 3rd character from the right of the VIN. This will show that the campaign procedures have been completed.





28. An "Authorized Modifications" label will need to be applied to the underside of the hood. This label will show the new ignition timing specification. Wipe the surface clean before applying the new label.





29. On the "Authorized Modifications" label, you will need to write in the following information:

CHANGE AUTHORITY: G006

DEALER CODE: Your Dealer Code

REPAIR DATE: The date of the repair

Remove the backing from the clear adhesive on the front of the label, and press down over the label.

30. After completing these procedures make sure that all fuel and coolant connections are not leaking. Check that all fasteners are tightened to the proper torque and that the choke shim is in position. Remove the fender covers.

NOTICE

The following statement must appear on the customer's copy of the Repair Order as proof to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) that the campaign has been performed:

"Excel Emissions Campaign has been completed on this vehicle."
