Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

IGNITION COIL

1. Using a suitable ohmmeter, measure primary coil resistance. Resistance should be 1.2 ohms.
2. Measure secondary coil resistance. Resistance should be 13.7 k ohms.
3. Measure resistance of external resistor. Resistance should be 1.35 ohms.
4. If resistance values are not as specified, replace components as necessary.
