Hyundai Motor America is campaigning the following 1987 Excels including and beyond the following VINS:

^ Manual Transaxles
- KMHLDXXXXHU094764 and after (3 door) produced on and after 6/2/87
- KMHLFXXXXHU232439 and after (4 door) produced on and after 6/1/87
- KMHLAXXXXHU200009 and after (5 door) produced on and after 6/1/87
^ Automatic Transaxles
- KMHLDXXXXHU087507 and after (3 door) produced on and after 5/15/87
- KMHLFXXXXHU221104 and after (4 door) produced on and after 5/16/87
- KMHLAXXXXHU189599 and after (5 door) produced on and after 5/16/87

Vehicles with these VIN ranges must also meet the following conditions for eligibility:

^ originally certified for use in California
^ initially registered in California
^ currently registered in California
^ normally operated in California

This campaign becomes effective on March 29, 1990. Any repairs performed prior to March 29, 1990, will not be accepted under this campaign.

PROCEDURES COVERED

This Campaign covers the following repairs and services, regardless of the vehicle's age or mileage:

Cleaning of the area around the choke blade shaft and primary and secondary main air jets and checking of voltage reading Installation of an engine ground wire, if necessary.

All owners of the affected vehicles are being notified by mail beginning March 29, 1990, that they should bring their cars in for this service. Your dealership will be reimbursed for labor costs associated with the cleaning, and if necessary, the installation of the ground wire.

ONLY GENUINE HYUNDAI PARTS MAY BE USED

If applicable, only HYUNDAI Genuine Parts supplied by Hyundai Motor America's Parts Department may be used for this repair. The ground wire (P/N 39150-21000 or its successor must be ordered separately).

All claims for this Campaign will be reimbursed under one of the following Campaign Codes:
