Fig. 2 Strut bar adjusting and locknut dimensions:
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove strut bar to control arm a strut bar to crossmember attaching nuts and bolts.
3. Remove stabilizer bar bracket to strut bar attaching nuts and bolts, then the strut bar.
4. Remove stabilizer bar to crossmember attaching nuts and bolts, then the stabilizer bar. The right and left strut bars are not interchangeable. The left strut bar has a white marked area on its surface. Ensure that strut bars are correctly positioned before installation.
5. Position inner locknut and adjusting nut onto new strut bar according to dimensions shown in Fig. 2.
6. Install strut and stabilizer bars, then loosely install attaching nuts and bolts. Do not tighten nuts and bolts at this time.
7. Lower vehicle to floor, then proceed as follows:
a. Torque strut bar to crossmember attaching nut to 54-61 ft. lbs., strut bar to control arm attaching nuts and bolts to 69-87 ft. lbs., stabilizer bar to crossmember attaching nuts and bolts to 22-29 ft. lbs. and stabilizer bar bracket to strut bar attaching nuts and bolts to 4-5 ft. lbs.
8. Check and adjust wheel alignment to specification.
