Front Differential Case Disassemble (W/O E-Locker)

1. Remove the differential side bearings. Refer to Differential Side Bearing Replacement (Service and Repair).





Note: The ring gear bolts have left-handed threads.

2. Remove the ring gear bolts.

Caution: Do not pry the ring gear from the differential case. Prying the ring gear from the differential case may cause damage to the ring gear and/or the differential case.




3. Using a brass drift and a hammer, remove the ring gear from the differential case.




4. Remove the pinion shaft lock bolt.




5. Remove the pinion shaft.





Note: If re-using the differential pinion gears and or the differential side gears, create reference mark the top and bottom of the pinion gears and the left and right of the side gears.

6. Remove the differential pinion gears by rolling the differential pinion gears out of the case with the pinion thrust washers.
7. Remove the differential side gears and the side gear thrust washers.
