Fuse Block: Service and Repair
Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection).
2. Reposition the battery cooling duct (1) from the battery box cover.
3. Remove the junction block cover (1) from the junction block.
4. Disconnect all the electrical connectors (1) from the junction block fuse holder.
5. Remove the junction block fuse holder by releasing and lifting the 4 locking tabs (1) from the retainers (2) at the base of the fuse block holder (3) and reposition from the housing.
6. If the junction block housing removal is necessary, perform the following:
1. Remove the bolts (1) from the junction block housing (2).
2. Remove the junction block housing (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
1. If the junction block housing was removed, perform the following:
1. Install the junction block housing (2) to the vehicle.
2. Install the bolts (1) to the junction block housing (2) and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
2. Install the junction block fuse holder by positioning the 4 locking tabs (1) to the retainers (2) at the base of the fuse block holder (3) and pressing into place until fully seated.
3. Connect all the electrical connectors (1) to the junction block fuse holder.
4. Install the junction block cover (1) to the junction block.
5. Reposition the battery cooling duct (1) to the battery box cover.
6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection).
