Catalytic Converter Guard Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the nut (1) and bolt (2) securing the front and rear catalytic converter guard together.
3. Remove the nut (2), bolt (3), and spacer (1) securing the front catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
4. Remove the bolts (1) and spacer securing the engine shield to the crossmember.
5. Remove the bolt (1) securing the front and rear catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
6. Remove the front catalytic converter guard from the vehicle.
7. Remove the bolt (1) securing the rear catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
8. Remove the bolts (1) securing the rear catalytic converter guard to the frame crossmember.
9. Remove the rear catalytic converter guard from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear catalytic converter guard to the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the bolts (1) securing the rear catalytic converter guard to the frame crossmember.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
3. Install the bolt (1) securing the rear catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Install the front catalytic converter guard to the vehicle.
5. Install the bolt (1) securing the front and rear catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
6. Install the bolts (1) and spacer securing the engine shield to the crossmember.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
7. Install the spacer (1), bolt (3), and nut (2) securing the front catalytic converter guard to the transmission support.
Tighten the nut to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
8. Install the bolt (2) and nut (1) securing the front and rear catalytic converter guard together.
Tighten the nut to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
9. Lower the vehicle.
