Bulletin No.: 08-08-67-014

Date: October 01, 2008

Subject:
Sunroof Glass Contacts Roof Bow (Apply Adhesive)

Models:
2009 HUMMER H3, H3T

Condition

Some customers may comment that the sunroof glass rubs on something in the roof or that the glass rattles when the sunroof glass is partially open.

Cause

The back of the roof bow behind the sunroof opening may come in contact with the sunroof glass.

Correction

For a gap of 1/4 inch or less at the back of the bow to the roof:

1. Remove the headliner and sunroof module.

2. Plastic off the interior for protection.

3. Pull down on the roof bow slightly and remove any anti-flutter compound.

4. Sand the roof and the top of bow down to bare metal in four locations.

5. Apply 3M 08116 or equivalent to the top of the bow and to any bare metal.

6. Push the back of the bow up to the roof to within 1/8 inch and squeeze 3M 08116 or equivalent between the roof and the bow in four roof locations.

7. Let it set for 24 hours.

8. It may be necessary to pull down on the center of the roof so that it is flush with the sunroof glass when done because it was pushed up during the repair process.

9. Adjust the sunroof glass so that the glass is flush to the top of the roof in the corners.

10. In some cases, it was necessary to elongate the holes for the sunroof glass attaching holes so that it was flush.

Correction

13. Let it set for 24 hours and remove the jack.

14. Grind the welds flat in the two locations.
