6. Align the Right Rear of the module (tape side) to the dual-lock tape (1) on quarter panel.
Note
Connector on the module to point vertically upward to allow for the engagement of harness connector.
7. Push the module (1) to allow engagement of dual-lock tape (positive to negative).
8. Ensure that the module is firmly secured.
9. Connect the trailer module harness (1) to the Trailer Module.
10. Splice into the accessory outlet connector for a power supply to the module.
11. Black wire (1) of the trailer module harness to the Black wire on the accessory wire for GND.
12. Red wire (2) of the trailer module harness to the existing Orange +12V accessory wire.
Important:
Use the GM approved crimps supplied!
13. Route the rest of the Trailer Module Harness along the main body wiring harness on the Right Hand Side towards the front of the vehicle as shown above.
14. Secure the trailer module harness (1) to the main body wiring harness with at least 5 cable ties evenly spread (from the trailer module mounting location to the front door sill)
15. This will ensure that the trailer module harness follows the same routing as the main body wiring harness branch on the Right Hand Side of vehicle.
16. Disconnect J1 (Black) connector (1) from the Body Control Module.
17. Remove the cover from J1 connector and peel back the insulation tape (1) as required.
18. Measure 80 mm from the connector as shown in the illustration above.
19. Cut the Left Hand Side front turn signal wire (2) (dark blue) - pin J1-A3.
20. Cut the Right Hand Side front turn signal wire (2) (light blue) (light blue) pin J1-A19.
21. Cut the Left Hand Side rear turn signal wire (1) (yellow) (yellow) - pin J1-BI.
22. Cut the Right Hand Side rear turn signal wire (1) (green)-pin J1-B2.
23. After cutting the wires (1) there will be 2 wires coming out of the Body Control Module connector. 1 light Blue (pin J1-A19) and 1 dark Blue (pin J1-A3) as shown.
24. And 2 wires (2) going to the front turn signals Left front & Right front as shown.
25. Connect the Light Blue wire from the Body Control Module connector to the Green Right Hand Side rear turn signal wire.
26. The Right Hand Side rear turn signal is now connected to the front turn signal circuit of the Body Control Module.
27. The Dark Blue wire from BCM connector to remains temporarily unconnected. (The new wire from the Right rear turn signal will be connected here later).
28. The Yellow wire to the Left Hand Side rear turn signal as shown to remain disconnected.
29. Connect the wire (2) labeled "Input left" from the Trailer Module harness to the Yellow wire from the Body Control Module connector.
30. Connect the wire (1) labeled "output left" from the trailer module harness to the Dark Blue wire going to the Left Hand Side front turn signal.
31. Connect the wire (1) labeled "input right" from the trailer module harness to the Green wire from the Body Control Module connector.
32. Connect the wire (2) labeled "output right" from the trailer module harness to the light Blue wire going to the Right Hand Side front turn signal.
Important:
Use the GM approved crimps supplied!
33. Under the Right Hand Side front door seal, locate the splice to the Right Hand Side rear/Trailer turn signal wires (Green wire).
34. Cut both the wires at the splice(1) with a side cutter as shown Revised Wiring Diagram.
35. Using a multi meter identify which of the 2 cut wires (1) are from the Body Control Module by means of a continuity test.
