Fuel Tank Filler Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Partially drain the fuel tank below the level of the fuel fill tube. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
2. Raise and support the vehicle, high enough to access the fuel fill hose through the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner.
4. Remove the left rear wheelhouse flare.
5. Remove the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame.
6. Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister.
7. Loosen the fuel fill pipe clamp (3).
8. Remove the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank.
9. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line (5) from the fuel fill pipe vent line (1).
10. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket nuts.
11. Remove the fuel fill pipe from the vehicle.
12. Cap the open end of the fuel tank.
Installation Procedure
1. Remove the cap from the fuel tank.
2. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket to the studs on the fender.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the fuel fill pipe nuts.
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Install the fuel fill hose to the fuel tank. Align the orientation notch (2) on the fuel fill hose to the tab (4) on the fuel tank.
5. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp.
Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
6. Connect the fuel tank vent line (5) to the fuel fill pipe vent line (1).
7. Connect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) to the EVAP canister.
8. Install the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame.
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
9. Install the left rear wheelhouse flare.
10. Install the left rear wheelhouse liner.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Refill the fuel tank.
13. Install the fuel fill cap.
14. Inspect for leaks.
