Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

CH-47830 Fixture

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the brake master cylinder.
2. Using the appropriate tool, remove the brake fluid from the reservoir.
3. Using the CH-47830. install the brake master cylinder in a vise.




4. Release the fluid level sensor electrical connector (6) from the bracket.
5. Remove the retaining bolt (1) for the brake master cylinder.
6. Remove the roll pin (2) for the brake master cylinder reservoir (3).

Important:
^ The grommets for the brake master cylinder should remain in the brake master cylinder body.

^ There are 2 different size grommets. The 2 outer grommets are larger than the center grommet.

Remove the grommets (4, 5), if needed.
7. Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly (3).

Installation Procedure





Important: Apply a small amount of CLEAN brake fluid to the grommets before installing them in the brake master cylinder.

1. Install the grommets (4, 5), if needed.
2. Install the brake master cylinder reservoir (3).
3. Install the brake master cylinder reservoir roll pin (2).
4. Install the fluid level sensor electrical connector (6) to the bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

5. Install the brake master cylinder reservoir retaining bolt (1).

Tighten the brake master cylinder reservoir retaining bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

6. Remove the brake master cylinder from the CH-47830.




7. Install the brake master cylinder assembly.
8. Refill the brake master cylinder reservoir.
