Midgate Window Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Lower the window into the midgate.
2. Remove the midgate inner panel.
3. Remove the midgate hinge finish covers.
4. Release the midgate latches, opening the midgate until the holes in the hinge assembly are aligned.
5. Install 5 mm (0.196 in) pins (2) or an allen wrench through the holes in each hinge (1) to support the midgate.
6. Remove the midgate window outer sealing strip.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) to the defroster grid contact terminal.
8. Loosen the bolts (1) retaining the window to the midgate window clamp.
9. Remove the midgate window out through the top of the midgate assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the midgate window into the midgate though top of the midgate assembly.
Ensure the window is engaged into the window run channels.
2. Lower the window (2) onto the window regulator assembly clamps.
3. Install the bolts (1) retaining the midgate window to the window regulator clamps until they are finger tight.
4. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the defroster grid contact terminal.
5. Install the midgate window outer sealing strip.
6. Remove the pins (2) from the midgate hinges (1) supporting the midgate.
7. Close the midgate.
8. Operate the midgate window until the window is fully closed and engaged in the midgate weatherstrip.
9. Carefully lower the window in order to access the window clamp bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
10. Complete tightening of the bolts retaining the midgate window to the window regulator.
Tighten the nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
11. Inspect the operation of the midgate window.
12. Install the midgate hinge finish covers.
13. Install the midgate inner panel (1).
