Date: June 28, 2007

TECHNICAL

Subject:
Outside Rearview Mirror Rattles/Shakes Left or Right Side (Tighten Cross Bar Actuator)

Models:
2007 HUMMER H2, SUT

Condition

Some customers may comment that the left or right outside rear view mirror rattles when closing the door or has a minor shake on rough roads.

Cause

The actuator crossbar screws may be loose.

Correction

Inspect the actuator screws using the following procedure.

Remove the mirror glass by rotating the glass to the full inboard position.

Position your finger under the glass, slowly but firmly lift the glass and the backing plate from the actuator. If equipped with heated mirrors, remove the wiring harness from the back of the mirror glass.

Snug the crossbar screws, then add an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

If equipped with heated mirrors, reinstall the wiring harness to the back of the mirror glass.

Align the glass backing plate to the actuator. Press the glass back onto the actuator.

Cycle the mirror and verify proper operation.
