B3604
DTC B3604 or B3605
Circuit Description
The global window up and down switches are inputs to the driver door module. The driver door module supplies the switch assembly with a battery positive reference voltage. When the switch is operated to the up or down direction the up or down switch signal circuit is closed to the reference voltage. In an active state the global window up or down switch signal circuit voltage is supplied to the driver door module through one of the 806 ohm resistors within the switch assembly. The resistors in the switch assembly enables the driver door module to recognize an invalid switch signal.
DTC Descriptors
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
* DTC B3604 All Windows Up Circuit
* DTC B3605 All Windows Express Down Circuit
Conditions for Running the DTC
The system voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
* The driver door module sets a DTC B3604 when the global window up switch signal circuit is determined to be shorted to voltage or ground.
* The driver door module sets a DTC B3605 when the global window down switch signal circuit is determined to be shorted to voltage or ground.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The global window operation will be disabled.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.
* When the fault is no longer present the DTC will be a history status code.
* The history DTC will be cleared after 100 error-free ignition cycles, or by using the scan tool clearing DTCs feature.
Test Description
Step 1 - Step 9:
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. This step tests the resistance through the switch while in an active state.
4. This step tests the faulted switch signal circuit for a short to another circuit within the switch assembly while in an inactive state.
