Window Outer Belt Sealing Strip Ends Are Glossy (Wash Molding)

Condition
Some customers may comment that their outer belt sealing strip (bottom corners of the outer edge of the door glass) ends are glossy compared to the rest of the molding. Refer to the illustration above.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a gloss level change to the ends of the molding due to the use of a release agent on the molding.
Correction
1. Scrub the affected area with full strength, non-abrasive liquid detergent concentrate (such as Formula 409, Fantastik or Armor-all Multi-Purpose Auto Cleaner) with a sponge or soft cloth.
2. Rinse and wipe entire assembly dry. Inspect the dried part for possible residual gloss migration. Repeat cleaning in areas where inspection shows the condition still exists.
