Audio System - Ticking Noise From Speakers

"Ticking" Noise from Radio Speakers (Check for DTCs and Replace Radio, If Necessary)

Models:
2006 HUMMER H3
with UB0, UC6 or US8 Radio

Built Up to and Including VIN Breakpoints 68195100

Condition

Some customers may comment on a "ticking" noise from the radio speaker(s), typically at lower volume levels.

Cause

This condition may be caused by integrated circuit issues on the radio circuit board.

Correction

Do NOT replace the speakers or amplifier, if equipped.

Connect the Tech2(R) scan tool to the vehicle and view any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) set in the radio. Repair any DTCs as required.

If no DTCs are present, replace the radio.
