4X4 System - Warning Lamp ON/4X4 Inoperative/DTC's Set

Subject:
Service Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Light On, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) B0790, B2725, C0359 (Reprogram Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM))

Models:
2006 HUMMER H3

with Borg Warner Transfer Case (RPOs NR4 or NR6)

Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 68139888 (with RPO G94) or 68140143 (without RPO G94)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the Service 4WD light is on and 4WD is inoperative.

Cause

DTCs may be set due to a TCCM calibration issue. If these codes set, the TCCM will disable 4WD.

Correction

1. With a scan tool clear the TCCM DTCs.

2. Reprogram the TCCM with TIS version 8.0 or later released to dealers on 8/7/05.

3. Road test the vehicle.

4. If the codes reset, refer to the appropriate Service Information below for diagnosis and repair:
