Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement

Tools Required
^ J8092 Driver Handle
^ J44215 Rear Seal Installer

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the flywheel.





2. Important: Do not damage the crankshaft or seal bore.

Using a suitable tool, pry the crankshaft rear oil seal out from the crankshaft rear oil seal housing. Discard the seal.

Installation Procedure
1. Lightly lubricate the crankshaft rear oil seal lip with clean engine oil.
2. Position the plastic installation sleeve supplied with the NEW seal to the crankshaft.





3. Using the J44215 with the J8092 and a hammer, install the crankshaft rear oil seal into the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.
^ The spring side of the seal goes toward the engine.
^ Ensure the seal is installed square.
^ The seal will bottom out in the housing when fully installed.

4. Install the flywheel.
