Hydraulic Brake Booster Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the hydraulic brake booster accumulator.
2. Remove the plugs (1) for the retaining bolts (2) for the wiring harness (4) brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) (3).
Important: When removing the booster pump, the wiring harness will come with the booster pump.
3. Remove the mounting bolts (5) for the booster pump (6).
4. Remove the booster pump (6) from the brake master cylinder assembly.
5. Remove the retainer (7) for the mounting bracket (8) by breaking the retaining ring for the damper.
6. Remove the mounting bracket (8) from the booster pump (6).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the retainer damper (7) in the mounting bracket (8).
2. Install the booster pump (6) in the mounting bracket (8).
3. Position the booster pump (6) on the BPMV.
Notice: Install the mounting bolts (5) for the booster pump (6).
4. Tighten the mounting bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
5. Install the wiring terminals (4) BPMV (3).
6. Install the retaining bolts (2) for the wiring harness (4).
Tighten the retaining bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
7. Install the plugs (1) for the wiring harness (4).
8. Install the hydraulic brake booster accumulator.
