Trailer Park Lamps, Turn Signal, Stop Lamps or Trailer Brakes Inoperative (Tie Strap Trailer Wiring Harness to Trailer Hitch)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the trailer park lamp, turn signal, stop lamps or the trailer brakes are inoperative.

Cause

The trailer wiring harness may be contacting the muffler and, after time, melting the harness.

Correction





Pull the harness away from the muffler and install a tie-strap around the harness and secure the harness to the trailer hitch as seen in the illustration above. It may also be necessary to repair the wiring harness.
