Transmission Mount: Service and Repair




Transmission Mount Replacement

1. Loosen the upper torque rod mounting bolt (A).





2. Remove the air cleaner Service and Repair.

3. Remove the ECM cover, then remove the three bolts securing the ECM.

4. Remove the ECM bracket.

5. Remove the under hood fuse/relay box from the bracket.

6. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

7. Remove the splash shield.

8. Loosen the lower torque rod mounting bolt (A).






9. Loosen the front mount mounting bolt (A).





10. Lower the vehicle on the lift.

11. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the transmission.

12. Remove the ground cable (A).





13. Remove the transmission mount (B).

14. Install the transmission mount, and tighten the new transmission mount mounting bolts (C).

15. Loosely install the new transmission mount bracket mounting bolt and nuts (D).

16. Install the ground cable.

17. Remove the jack and the wood block.

18. Tighten the transmission mount bracket mounting bolt and nuts.





19. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

20. Tighten the lower torque rod mounting bolt.





21. Lower the vehicle on the lift.

22. Tighten the upper torque rod mounting bolt.





23. Install the under-hood fuse/relay box to the bracket.

24. Install the ECM bracket.

25. Install the ECM, then install the ECM cover.

26. Install the air cleaner Service and Repair.

27. Raise the vehicle on the lift.

28. Tighten the front mount mounting bolt.





29. Install the splash shield.
