Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim or the panel.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Remove these items:
- Door sill trim
- Rear seat-back:
- Fold down
- Split fold down
- Rear seat cushion
2. Lower the rear seat pivot bracket (A).
3. Remove the rear side trim panel (A).
1. Detach the clip (B).
2. Release the upper hooks (C) and the tabs (D) from the quarter pillar trim (E) and the rear shelf extension (F).
3. Detach the clips (G) by pulling back upper area of the panel.
4. Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips, the hooks, and the tabs into place securely.
Rear Shelf - 2-door

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the rear shelf or the trim.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Fold down the seat-backs.
2. From the trunk compartment, disconnect and detach the high mount brake light connector (A).
3. Carefully lift up the front edge of the rear shelf (A) by hand to release the front hooks (B) from the body, to detach the clips, and to disengage the side hooks (C) from the rear shelf extension (D).
4. While lift the rear shelf (A) upward to release the tether anchor striker (B) out through the holes in the rear shelf. Pull back the shelf to release the remaining rear clips and the hooks (C) near the high mount brake light.
5. Pull out the high mount brake light connector (D) from the trunk compartment.
6. Pull out the rear center seat belt (E) through the slit (F) in the rear shelf, then remove the rear shelf.
7. Install the rear shelf in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- When installing the rear shelf, slip the rear center seat belt through the slit in the rear shelf.
- With the rear clips (A) installed in the rear parcel shelf (body), set the rear shelf (B) on the parcel shelf. Push down on the rear edge of the shelf, then slide it back to set the rear clips and the hooks (C) into place. Center the rear shelf using the center tether anchor striker (D) for reference. Push down on the rear shelf to set the remaining clips.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
- Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
Rear Shelf Extension - 2-door
NOTE:
- Take care not to bend or scratch the extension or the trim.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Remove these items:
- Rear shelf Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area (2-Door)
- Rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area (2-Door)
2. Detach the clips, and release the hooks (A) from the quarter pillar trim (B).
3. Pull out the rear seat belt (C) through the slit (D) in the rear shelf extension (E), then remove it.
4. Install the extension in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- When installing the rear shelf extension, slip the rear seat belt through the slit in the extension.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
