Center Console Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required

- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

NOTE:

- Take care not to scratch the front seat, the dashboard, or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Remove the passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation.

2. M/T (Except Si model): Lower the shift lever boot (A) to release the hooks (B) from the boot, then remove the shift knob (C).






3. M/T (Si model): Loosen the locknut (A), then remove the shift knob (B).






4. M/T (Except Si model): Detach the clips by pulling up the front inner panel (A).






5. M/T (Si model): Remove the locknut (A). Detach the clips by pulling up the front inner panel (B).






6. A/T: Detach the clips by pulling up the front inner panel (A).






7. Gently pull out along the rear of the center console panel (A) to detach the clips (B, C).






8. Pull up the center console panel (A) and rearward to release the tabs (B).






9. Open the armrest (A), and remove the console box mat (B), then remove the bolts.






10. Remove the bolts and detach the clips from the front area of the center console. Disconnect the console subharness connector (A), and detach the connector clip (B).






11. Slide both front seats all the way back, and recline the seat-back fully.

12. Slide the center console (A) rearward to release the pins (B) from the bracket (C).






13. Lift up the rear of the console (A), and remove it from the dashboard.





14. For some models: Disconnect the seat heater switch connectors (B).

15. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
- When installing the center console panel, install the tabs (A) into the notch (B) of the parking brake base frame (C).





16. M/T (Si model): Install the shift knob (A).

1. By hand, thread the locknut (B) on to the shaft unit it bottoms out on the shaft.

2. By hand, thread the shift knob on the shaft.

3. Rotate the shift knob to proper position.

4. Tighten the locknut securely.
