SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 83-21, 83-22, 83-23, 83-24, 82-25, 82-26, 82-27

DTC 83-21, 83-22, 83-23, 83-24, 83-25, 83-26, 83-27:

No Signal From the Outer Side Front Passenger's Weight Sensor

NOTE:

- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components, of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed Service and Repair.
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures Service and Repair and General Troubleshooting Information Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

1. Check the front passenger's weight sensor connectors for loose or poor connections.

2. Clear the DTC memory.

3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.

4. Read the DTC.

Is DTC 83-21, 83-22, 83-23, 83-24, 83-25, 83-26, or 83-27 indicated?

YES -

- 4-door: Faulty outer side front passenger's weight sensor; replace the front passenger's seat frame including all four front passenger's weight sensors Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door), then clear the DTC.�
- 2-door: Faulty outer side front passenger's weight sensor; replace the front passenger's weight sensor assembly Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement (2-Door), then clear the DTC.�

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.�
