Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement

2-door

Removal

NOTE: Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to Precautions and Procedures. Service and Repair

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the front passenger's seat. Front Seat Removal/Installation

3. Remove the front passenger's cushion cover/pad from the seat cushion frame. Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement

4. Remove the tamper-resistant TORX bolts (A) attach the seat track (B) to the front passenger's weight sensors (C) using a TORX T27 bit.

5. Disconnect the weight sensor connectors (D) from the ODS unit harness, then remove the front passenger's weight sensor assembly.






Installation

NOTE:

- Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.

- Make sure both of the hooks (A) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (B). If the hooks are not properly secured, the seat weight sensors will not function properly.

1. Install the front passenger's weight sensors with tamper-resistant TORX bolts (C) under the seat track, using a TORX T27 bit.

2. Reinstall the front passenger's seat cushion cover/pad to the seat cushion frame. Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement

3. Reinstall the front passenger's seat. Front Seat Removal/Installation

4. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

5. Clear any DTCs. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

6. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization, with the HDS, Programming and Relearning without the HDS. Programming and Relearning

7. Confirm proper operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
