NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or the other interior trim pieces.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal/Installation
- Rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal/Installation
- Kick panels, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Front Door Sill Area (4-Door)
- B-pillar lower trims, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - B-Pillar Upper/Lower Trim (4-Door)
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation
- Steering joint cover Steering Column Removal/Installation
2. '06-08 models: Push the knob (A) back to release the hooks (B), then pull up the accelerator pedal (C).
3. '09-10 models: Release the hooks (A) to remove the accelerator pedal clip (B). While pushing down the back-up spring (C), pull back the accelerator pedal (D) to release the hook (E).
4. Remove the footrest (A).
-1 Remove the lower clip (B) from the stud bolt (C) with a 6 mm hex socket wrench.
Remove the upper clip (D) from the stud bolt with a flat-tip screwdriver.
5. Disconnect the SRS unit connector A and the antenna connector (B), and detach the wire harness clips (C). Remove the ground bolt (D) with a TORX T30 bit.
Without premium sound system
With premium sound system
6. Remove the bolts (A, B), and detach the connector clip (C), then remove the center pipe extension (D).
7. Remove the rear heater joint duct (A).
8. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the equalizer. Service and Repair
9. Remove the floor mat holders (A) from the driver's side.
10. Detach the clips.
11. Release the Velcro fasteners (A), then pull out the carpet (B) from under the dashboard.
12. Pull out the seat harnesses (C) through the hole in the carpet, then remove the carpet.
13. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harnesses and the parking brake cables are routed correctly.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the Velcro fasteners and the clips into place securely.
- Push the accelerator pedal hooks into place securely, and verify that the pedal is properly fastened to the floor.
