SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 83-24, 83-25, 83-26, 83-27

DTC 83-24, 83-25, 83-26, 83-27: No Signal From the Outer Side Front Passenger's Weight Sensor

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures Service and Repair and General Troubleshooting Information . Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

1. Check the front passenger's weight sensor connectors for loose or poor connections.

2. Clear the DTC memory. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.

4. Read the DTC. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Is DTC 83-24, 83-25, 83-26, or 83-27 indicated?
YES -
- 4-door: Faulty outer side front passenger's weight sensor; replace the front passenger's seat frame including all four front passenger's weight sensors, Front Passengers Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door) then clear the DTC.

- 2-door: Faulty outer side front passenger's weight sensor; replace the outer side front passenger's weight sensor assembly , Front Passengers Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door) then clear the DTC.


NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
