Side Impact Sensor (Second) Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. For 2-door models: Remove the door sill trim, Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Door Sill Area (2-Door) and the rear side trim panel. Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area (2-Door)
For 4-door models: Remove the rear seat cushion and seat side bolster. Rear Seat Removal/Installation

3. Disconnect the floor wire harness 2P connector (A) from the side impact sensor (second).

4. Remove the TORX bolt (B) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the side impact sensor (second) (C).






Installation

1. Install the side impact sensor (second) (A) with a new TORX bolt (B) then connect floor wire harness 2P connector (C) to the side impact sensor (second).

2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

3. Reinstall all removed parts.

4. Clear any DTCs. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

5. Confirm proper operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
