NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal/Installation
- Rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal/Installation
- Door sill trim, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Door Sill Area (2-Door)
- Kick panels, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Door Sill Area (2-Door)
- Driver's dashboard undercover Drivers Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passengers Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation
- Steering joint cover Steering Column Removal and Installation
2. '06-08 models: Push the knob (A) back to release the hooks (B), then pull up the accelerator pedal (C).
3. '09 model: Release the hooks (A) to remove the accelerator pedal clip (B). While pushing down the back-up spring (C), pull back the accelerator pedal (D) to release the hook (E).
4. Remove the footrest (A).
-1 Remove the lower clip (B) from the stud bolt (C) using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench.
-2 Remove the upper clip (D) from the stud bolt using a flat-tip screwdriver.
5. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the equalizer. Service and Repair
6. Remove the floor mat holders (A) from the driver's side.
7. Release the clip from the rear portion of the carpet (A). Pull out the edge of the carpet from under both rear side trim panels (B).
8. Release the clips. Release the Velcro fasteners (A), then pull the carpet out from under the dashboard.
9. Pull the seat harnesses (B) out through the hole in the carpet, then remove the carpet.
10. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harnesses and parking brake cables are routed correctly.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the Velcro fasteners and the clips into place securely.
- Slip the carpet under both rear side trim panels properly.
- Push the accelerator pedal hooks into place securely, and verify that the pedal is properly fastened to the floor.
