SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 82-14, 82-15, 82-16, 82-17

DTC 82-14, 82-15, 82-16, 82-17: No Signal From the Inner Side Front Passenger's Weight Sensor

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures Technician Safety Information and General Troubleshooting Information . Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Clear the DTC memory. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is DTC 82-14, 82-15, 82-16, or 82-17 indicated?
YES - Faulty front passenger's weight sensor; replace the inner side front passenger's weight sensor, Front Passengers Weight Sensor Replacement (4-Door) then clear the DTC.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
