REVISION SUMMARY

SYMPTOM

The MIL comes on with DTC P0134 (air/fuel ratio [A/F] sensor [sensor 1] no activity detected).

PROBABLE CAUSE

The ECM misinterprets inputs as a faulty air/fuel ratio sensor.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Units/ Modules.

2. Do the ECM idle learn procedure:

^ Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, defogger, lights, etc.) are off.

^ Start the engine, and let it reach normal operating temperature (the cooling fans cycle twice).

^ Let the engine idle (idle stop off and throttle closed) for 10 minutes.
